MEET THE STAFF

McLean and Denise Faw

SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor McLean and Denise Faw both grew up in Mount Airy, NC and have 3 married sons and 5 grandchildren. They served at churches in Wilmington and Greensboro before they planted Joy Church in Matthews in 1994, where Pastor McLean has served as the senior pastor since its founding. McLean and Denise both have a passion for bringing people into a relationship with Jesus and helping them grow in wholeness to live out His plan and purpose for their lives.

CO-PASTOR

Pastor Luke (son of McLean and Denise) and Kelle Faw are part of the teaching team at Joy. They also help oversee children-young adult departments, small groups-community, pastoral care, discipleship and leadership training. Luke has been on staff as an associate pastor at Joy since 2007, spending over 20 years in ministry. He began by working part time at Joy while in college, and then for a church in Knoxville, Tennessee while he completed his masters degree. Luke also teaches as Adjunct Professor at Lee University in their Charlotte Center. He and Kelle have been in ministry together since they married 15 years ago, and have three children: Harper, Asher, and Ryker. Luke and Kelle enjoy all forms of water fun, from paddle boarding to riding waves. They are passionate about seeing disciples grow into wholeness and step into their divine destiny!

Nick and Andrea Willi

YOUNG ADULTS’ MINISTRY DIRECTOR & ADMINISTRATOR

Nick and Andrea Willi have been married for 21 years and have 5 children, Braydan, Noah, Samuel, Avery, and Brynn. During their first year of marriage, God touched their lives while visiting Joy Church, and they have never been the same. Over the years, they have been involved in many aspects of leading in the Church; they served as youth and young adult pastors, outreach ministry, and 8 years ago, they started their own business in Wilmington, NC to see people in that area transformed through the Gospel and fitness. They moved back to the Charlotte area in early 2022 to be a part of what God was doing at Joy. They are hungry to see God change lives and move through His people. No matter where they find themselves, their mission is to serve Him well. Andrea is leading our growing Children’s Ministry and Nick is heading up the Young Adults’ Ministry. The Willi Family is super excited to be a part of what God is doing at Joy Church!
