Vision for 2026
At the end of every year, as a leadership team, we seek the Lord for what He wants us to emphasize as our vision for the following year. Often the vision for the year highlights an aspect of our church’s overall vision — this is: An intergenerational, multicultural army of Spirit-filled worshipers who know their identity in Christ and walk in His authority and power.
As a church we are contending for people to become and display who God created them to be!
Through our prayer and fasting I began to see a theme emerging in multiple prophetic words around intergenerational connections. The importance of the generations is to step into deeper unity and community in order to steward what God desires to pour out in our midst. Two anchor Scriptures for this theme are:
Malachi 4:5-6 (NIV) — “See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.”
Luke 1:17 (NIV) — “And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children.”
First, we want to align with God’s heart for other generations. God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is an intergenerational God! We are better together!
We want to intentionally pursue deeper connections with other generations and identify and celebrate what God is doing in other generations within our church body. We clearly see the importance of generations in Acts 2 as Peter quotes Joel. I shared some practical teaching around this idea at the beginning of the year.
