The Holy Spirit Helps Me Pray – Pastor Luke Faw

Have you ever wondered what to pray, or how to pray in a certain situation?

Romans 8:28 (NIV) – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

1.      IT’S A MESS OUT THERE.

Romans 8:18 (   ) – “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

Romans 8:20-23 (NIV) – “For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.”

2.      WE CAN MAKE IT BETTER THROUGH PRAYER.

1 Timothy 2:1,3-4 (NLT) – “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them…. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

Matthew 6:10 (NKKJV) – “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

3.      PARTNER WITH THE SPIRIT IN PRAYER.

Romans 8:26-27 (NIV) – “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”

Exodus 2:23-25 (NLT) – “Years passed, and the king of Egypt died. But the Israelites continued to groan under their burden of slavery. They cried out for help, and their cry rose up to God. God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act.”

Isaiah 59:19b (NKJV) – “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”

Romans 8:28 (NIV) – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
