The Holy Spirit Lives in Me – Pastor McLean Faw

John 14:15-16 (NKJV) – If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:18 (NKJV) – I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

1.      BELIEVE THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus promises us that the Father will send us another Helper, the Spirit of Truth.

John 14:16-17a (NKJV) – And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of Truth…

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person – He will abide with you forever.

The Holy Spirit is Another Helper.

Another – Another means of the same kind.

Jack Hayford – He will do in My absence what I would do if I were physically present with you.

Helper – Paraclete – One who comes along beside us to help us.

The Holy Spirit is our Counselor, our Advocate, our Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, our Divine Friend.

2.      RECEIVE THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 14:17 (NKJV) – The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

The Holy Spirit lives inside of every born-again believer in Jesus Christ.

If you have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit lives in you!

1 Corinthians 6:19 (NKJV) – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

John 20:22 (NKJV) – And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit lives inside of us when we are born again. He comes upon us and flows through us with power when we are baptized with the Holy Spirit.

As believers, we want to receive the Holy Spirit, welcome His Presence, abide in His Presence, and surrender to His Presence.

We are called to live in a Divine Partnership with the Holy Spirit.

3.      CELEBRATE THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 14:18 (NKJV) – I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Adoption.

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) – For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit and witnesses to us that we are children of God, adopted into His family through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:16 (NKJV) – The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

The Holy Spirit gives us an assurance of salvation.

I AM NO LONGER A SPIRITUAL ORPHAN. I HAVE A HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES ME!

I BREAK OFF ANY ORPHAN SPIRIT FROM MY LIFE AND I RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT INTO EVERY AREA OF MY LIFE IN JESUS NAME!
