Armor Up – Ephesians 6

Ephesians 6:14-17 (NLT) Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[e] 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[f] 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Put on the Belt of Truth

Genesis 24:26-27 (NKJV) 26 Then the man bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord. 27 And he said, “Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken His mercy and His truth toward my master. As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.”

For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. 15 So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.

The Redeemer of Zion

Isaiah 59:15b-17a (NKJV) Then the Lord saw it, and [c]it displeased Him That there was no justice. 16 He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. 17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head;

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life

Put on Feet of Peace

So why does the first mention of "peace" in the Bible point us to a person and a place rather than a feeling, reaction, or emotion? It’s because true peace isn’t found in our feelings and emotions. - Mary Joe Pierce

Ephesians 2:14 (NKJV) For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

Hold up the Shield of Faith

Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.[h] 20 I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.
