DISCOVERING GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

Ephesians 3:1-2 (NKJV) For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles – if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you,

Ephesians 3:3-4 (NKJV) How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),

Ephesians 3:5-6 (NKJV) Which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets; that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel.

Ephesians 3:7 (NKJV) Of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.

Jeremiah 29:11(NLT) – “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

GOD HAS A PLAN FOR MY LIFE!

How do we discover God’s plan for our lives?

1.      DISCOVER A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST

Believe in Him, Receive Him, Surrender to Him

Ephesians 3:1 (NKJV) I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles.

When we become a prisoner of Jesus Christ, we become truly free.

John 8:36 (NKJV) Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Philippians 3:10 (NKJV) That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings.

2.      DISCOVER THE PASSION HE HAS PLACED IN YOUR HEART

Ephesians 3:1 (NKJV) For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles.

Acts 26:15-16 (NKJV) So I said, Who are You Lord? And He said to me, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.

Acts 26:17-18 (NKJV) I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

Ephesians 3:6 (NIV) This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

What is the passion He has placed in your heart?

The passion in our hearts points us to the people He wants us to reach.

Every believer is a missionary for Jesus Christ. - Doug Small

3.      DISCOVER THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Ephesians 3:7 (ESV) Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace, which was given me by the working of His power.

Minister – A servant of the King, a server at a wedding feast

Grace – undeserved kindness, unmerited favor

Joe McIntyre – Grace is supernatural power freely bestowed on us in Christ.

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NKJV) According to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.

This mighty power equips us, empowers us, and enables us to fulfill the purposes of God.

Ephesians 3:7 (NLT) – By God’s grace and mighty power, I have been given the privilege of serving Him by spreading this Good News.
