WHY SHAKING?
Haggai 2:6-7 (NKJV) For thus says the LORD of hosts: “Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,” says the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:8-9 (NKJV) “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,” says the LORD of hosts. “The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts. “And in this place, I will give peace,” says the LORD of hosts.
On February 14, 2014, at 10:23 PM, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook the Charlotte area.
Earthquakes can sometimes signal shifts in the spiritual realm.
I believe the Holy Spirit is calling believers in America to unite in the preaching of the Gospel to reach our nation for Jesus Christ.
Haggai 2:7 (NKJV) And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations.
Shake – Quake, make to tremble; it speaks of vibration, earthquake, a rattling, shaking.
Shaking reveals faulty foundations.
Shaking exposes things in our lives not of God.
Shaking gives us an opportunity to repent and come to Jesus Christ.
1. SHAKING BRINGS AWAKENING
Haggai 1:13 (NKJV) Then Haggai, the LORD’S messenger, spoke the LORD’S message to the people, saying, “I am with you, says the LORD.”
Haggai 1:14 (NKJV) So, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God.
Stir up – to awaken, to excite, to stir up, to open one’s eyes, to arouse to action
The Holy Spirit wants to awaken us, stir us, open our eyes, and move us to action.
Romans 13:11 (NKJV) And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
Romans 13:12 (NKJV) The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
HOLY SPIRIT, WAKE US UP IN JESUS NAME!
2. SHAKING BRINGS FILLING
Haggai 2:7 (NKJV) And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory, says the LORD of hosts.
Haggai 2:9a (NKJV) The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts.
2 Chronicles 5:13b-14 (NKJV) … the house of the LORD was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
3. SHAKING BRINGS CLEANSING
Haggai 2:14 (NLT) – Then Haggai responded, “That is how it is with this people and this nation, says the LORD. Everything they do and everything they offer is defiled by their sin.”
Mark 7:6b (NLT) – These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.
Joel 2:12a (NKJV) Now, therefore, says the LORD, turn to Me with all your heart.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
