Administrative Assistant
Dvora Gehring
Dvora Gehring is ecstatic to have joined our Joy Church staff not as a stranger, but as a long-time member since 2006. Dvora was born, raised and radically saved (spiritually born again) in Chicago, Illinois, during the Jesus Revolution. She is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute with a major in Communications and a minor in Missions. It was her joy to especially focus on Jewish Studies in her electives at Moody. She also completed a Paralegal Certification from Long Island University with Distinction. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2000, she was employed at the West Virginia University College of Law as a Program Assistant for five professors and the West Virginia Law Institute. She worked either as a legal secretary or paralegal both in Chicago, Illinois, and Brooklyn, New York. Locally, she was employed at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and brings her expertise to our growing office needs.
She and Ted have been married for 31 years and have a blessed and blended family of two sons, one deceased daughter, a daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren. Dvora has a passion for intergenerational ministry and heads up our Circle of Sisters program and assists with the Connection Center. She dusted off her retirement hat to commit to this position at Joy Church for as long as the Lord enables her to serve and contribute her talents.
